Last Friday I attended the Grand Opening for the Will Leather Goods Homestead Store in Downtown Portland's Union Way and oh my gosh I had a blast! A who's who of local bloggers and Portland based media, along with fans, customers and passersby stopped in for a fun and exciting evening filled with local food, beer, and entertainment. Guests mingled inside the two facing storefronts as well as the Union Way corridor separating them, spilling out onto both sidewalk entrances of the new shopping row. Set up just in front of the store’s window display, Eugene based band Concrete Loveseat entertained throughout the evening. Local eatery Kenny & Zukes provided delicious trays of food, while patrons sipped on beer from Portland based brewery Maletis and mini-pressed juice bottles with WILL branded labels made special for the event by a local juicery.
The evening kicked off at 6pm with VIP press tours led by WILL Leather Goods founder and CEO Will Adler, who walked the groups through each store, offering charming and enthusiastic stories of his inspiration for each collection. The crowd quickly grew to a bustling party within the opening hour and stayed packed until the close of the evening. Guests were treated to exclusive WILL PDX Duster Canvas Bags that featured a resin painted skyline of downtown Portland and included leather bound brand books that tell the rich history of the 30 year old roots WILL Leather Goods has grown in Oregon.
One thing that I love about Will Leather Goods, besides the
fact that they’re locally based in Eugene (Go Ducks LOL), is the timelessness
of each piece. Will pieces are truly classics that will last for years and
