Email marketing is a powerful tool that if done correctly can increase brand awareness, drive sales and help create relationships between your brand and target market. Whether your goal is to promote your brand and/or services and products or to call attention to giveaways, contests and special promotions, email marketing is a great way to get the message to your audience.
1. Be Mobile. These days, people are more likely to check their email on their smart phone or tablet
than on their desktop. It’s important to make sure that your emails are mobile
friendly and that your audience can easily navigate them.
2. Have an Interesting
Subject Line. The subject line is the first thing people will see in their
inbox. Don’t bore your audience. Make sure your subject line is easy to read
and understand. Don’t use crazy punctuation,
acronyms or WRITE IN ALL CAPS to avoid being sent to spam.
3. Content is King. Make your content
about your readers. Be personable and give your audience relevant and valuable information. Don't forget to proof read!
4. Know Your
Audience. Based on your
demographics, divide your subscribers into different categories and tailor your
emails to best fit each group. Emails that are targeted to customer preferences
are way more effective than mass emails. Also, be sure to send your campaign on the days and times that your audience is most likely to open and read it.
5. Design,
Design, Design. You can have amazing content but if paired with a boring design people are more likely to delete your email than to take the time to
read it. Combining a simple yet sharp design with eye catching graphics is a
sure way to hold your readers attention.
6. Share It.
Expand your market reach and encourage your readers to share your content by adding
social media buttons to your email campaign.
7. Ask
Permission. Have you ever gotten email updates or a newsletter from a company
that you never signed up for? It’s super annoying right? Don’t be one of them. Stay
true to the CAN-SPAM law and get permission before adding someone to your list.

Email marketing is great because it allows you to target a specific group of people who-because they signed up- you already know are interested in your product/service. By incorporating these marketing essentials into your email campaign, you can improve brand awareness and increase brand loyalty and drive sales. Pretty awesome right?
