portland fashion week press preview + 5 reasons why I'm excited for pfw

Last night I attended the Portland Fashion Week Press Preview as the PFW Social Media Manager and editor of Downtown Glam #IWearManyHats -ha). It was great. It was nice to socialize and mingle with familiar faces in the industry and talk fashion.

I literally can't  believe we're only 8 days away from the show! We've been planning since early May so it's crazy (but so exciting) to think that PFW is just next week! Here are 5 (unbiased) reasons why I'm excited for Portland Fashion Week:

Portland's Living Room. This season Portland Fashion Week is being held in downtown Portland at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Though parking is going to suck, I think it'll be really pretty. I can imagine models with the backdrop of tall buildings and of course, the TENTS.

Oh hey boys. This season there are 2 menswear Designers! In the past it seems PFW has been all about the ladies so I'm excited to see the fellas on the runway. I'm especially excited to see Jaefields full collection. I love their use of leather and black which, if you follow me on Instagram, I'm sure you could've guess that- ha!

Pure Talent. The bridal/couture show is going to be ridiculous! Even though I've already seen many of the designers collections at the model fitting and other PFW events and meetings, I was still completely blown away by the designs + hair + makeup at the Press Preview. So amazing!

Connected. Through my position at Portland Fashion Week I've meet a lot of people. Some I connected with and others I didn't. There are two emerging designers showing this season that are both so sweet and have a beautiful spirit. I can't wait to see Christie Chanthakhoun and Oscar Dominick's collections on the runway! From what I saw at the Press Preview, it's going to be great!

Arreis. As you can imagine, planning a 3-day fashion show takes a lot of time. I'm sad to see PFW come to an end for the season but I'm also really excited. I recently founded Arreis, a fashion pr + marketing agency. I'm putting together a workshop to teach local fashion designers and creatives how to brand and market their business based on the success I've had while handling Portland Fashion Weeks social for the past year. So exciting! The workshop will be after the craziness of Portland Fashion Week dies down so, stay tuned for more details and registration info. It's going to be awesome!
