WHAT'S IN MY BAG // FASHION SHOW EDIT.

Over the past two years I've been to a lot of fashion shows. Some as press, some as a blogger and others as a member of the production team. Through trial and error of attending these shows, I've developed a list of things (aside from the obvious like keys and wallet) that I always, always, always carry with me when I attend shows. With Alley 33 and Fade to Light coming up this month, I thought it'd be fun to share my fashion show essentials.

PORTABLE PHONE CHARGER

As a style blogger and social media obsessed marketing and pr maven, I try to capture everything. Between SnapChat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Google+, it doesn't take long before my battery is done for the night. Having a portable charger is a life saver! Especially for shows were more than one designer is showing. There's nothing worst than having to be stuck to the wall outlet or worse, missing an Instagramable moment. I really love this charger. It has a great battery/charge life (no pun intended) and it's super cute!

MINTS

Mints over gum at a fashion event- hands down! You never see Anna Wintour smacking on gum...jus' saying.

3.

TRAVEL SIZE PERFUME

Carrying a travel size perfume is great for a little freshener between shows or during the intermission. It's always a plus to smell nice when giving hugs to industry friends and networking with designers and such. Recently I've been loving Kate Spade and this Cholé. So good!

4.

BOBBY PINS + HAIR TIES

I made the mistake of not carrying extra hair ties to a show once. That just so happened to be the time when I tried to fix my bun and my hair tie broke. Cool. For a girl with natural (african american) hair, I can't just "switch-up" my hair style without the proper preparations-ha. Needless to say, from that moment on I learned to carry extra bobby pins and hair ties with me daily.

LIPSTICK

To touch up in-between snacks and glasses of wine. Lately I've been wearing Ruby Woo and this nude by Mabiline a lot.

EXTRA MEMORY CARD

Two seasons ago I was covering Fade to Light when my camera ran out of memory 3/4 of the way through the show! The worst! Now I always make sure to bring an extra memory card...just in case.

7.

BLOTTING PAPER

Having blotting paper in my bag is especially necessary for summer shows like Alley 33 and Open Season. Taking selfies with a greasy forehead ain't cute-ha! My favorite are from ELF. They work ridiculously well and they're only a dollar! Can't beat that!

8.

SNACK

No matter how much preperation I try to do, I always end up running late the day of the show. I've learned to keep a snack. It's hard to focus on fashion when your stomach is growling.
