diy brown sugar body scrub

Since re-starting my natural hair journey a few months ago, I've been really into using natural ingredients and products on my skin and hair. I have really sensitive skin and I've noticed a definite change in my skin since I began to use things like aloe vera and shea butter. Inspired by the results, I decided to treat my skin and make a brown sugar body scrub.

I originally only planned to make the vanilla and coconut oil scrub but later decided to make a brown sugar and honey scrub as well. These recipes are super easy and make for great inexpensive last minute Valentine's day gift. Enjoy!

Whipped Vanilla Brown Sugar  + Coconut Oil Body Scrub

What you'll need:
container
brown sugar
coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla extract or essential oil (vanilla extract is less expensive)
mixing bowl
spoon

*I don't use exact measurements for any of my ingredients expect the vanilla extract. I use the "eyeball method," mixing as much of an ingredient as I feel necessary, or as much as I think my skin needs.

You'll first want to measure how much brown sugar will fit into your container. I used a 156ml mason jar and filled it about 3/4 of the way.

Next, you'll want to measure out how much coconut oil and vanilla extract you want to use.

Add the coconut oil and vanilla to the brown sugar and mix until ingredients are fully blended and mixture turns into  a "whipped" consistency. Put mixture into your container and your done!

Brown Sugar + Honey Scrub

What you'll need:
container
brown sugar
honey
mixing bowl
spoon

First, measure (eyeball) brown sugar and honey. You can also add coconut oil to the mix if you'd like.

Mix brown sugar and honey until all ingredients are fully blended.

Finally, enjoy!
