porter magazine | review

I've always loved magazines. Despite the increasing popularity of fashion blogs and magazines offering digital options, I still love the old school glossy paper and printed words. 

Even though I love magazines, I've never been loyal to one in particular. No magazine has kept my attention from month to month- until Porter. 

Porter is powered by Net-A-Porter.com and is described as a 'new fashion magazine for the stylish, intelligent woman of now" (net-a-porter.com/Content/portermagazine).

I'd definitely have to agree. Porter isn't just a book full of pretty pictures and advertisements. Porter aims to inspire its readers by telling the stories of inspirational women. I really like the the combination of style, fashion and insight that is shared in each issue.

Another thing that I love about Porter is that they've found a way to bridge the gap between print editorials and e-commerce which, as someone who works in marketing, I think is so cool!

What does that mean? It means that you can literally shop the pages of each magazine! After downloading the Net-A-Porter app, you can scan the pages of the mag. Icons will then pop up prompting you to either buy, find or use their 24-hour concierge program that will find the item for you in a local boutique. Seriously, how cool is that!

Although only 4 issues deep, Porter has so far proven to be one of my favorite magazines. I'm interested to see if they will continue to be a favorite and if others in the industry will offer similar interactive possibilities. Only time will tell.
